File
- Click on file area to select file from your local computer, or drag'n'drop file into file area from File Explorer
- File will be imported into default location.
- If file has coordinate system or uses project coordinates, the data is imported directly into correct location.
- If file uses local coordinates, data will be imported into "drop location" in middle of the screen. To define accurate placeement, you need to go to Data settings tool to define accurate file's local origo placement in project coordinates.
Library
Add pre-defined datasets from a library. Library contains multiple data sources commonly used by our customers. You can search data sources by entering search text into the text box.
If you want some data source to be added into common library, please send an email to support@6dplanner.com.
WMS
Load raster format GIS data from external servers like maps, ortophotos, satellite photos, ...
Enter the name for the data source, server address and select the layer from the layer list. If the data source needs authentication, enter also username and password. If you want to limit data source display, enter the limit coordinates using WGS84 lat - long coordinates.
Presentation style defines raster data projection. You can project raster data into background terrain, model surfaces, both, or as a flat plane in user defined elevation. Transparency makes the raster data transparent so you can see through the data.
WFS
Load vector format GIS data from external servers like points, lines, and areas.
Enter the name for the data source, server address and select the layer from the layer list. If the data source needs authentication, enter also username and password. If you want to limit data source display, enter the limit coordinates using WGS84 lat - long coordinates.
Clamp to terrain projects the vector elements to follow terrain or model data. Styling rules define different element type styles, color, transparency and size. For polygons (areas) you can also set fixed elevation, and upward extrusion to make polygons show as 3d volumes like buildings.
Tiles
Load multipe types of 3d data sources from external servers in following formats:
- 3DTiles (3d-models, photogrammetry, point clouds)
- I3S (3d-models, photogrammetry)
- Quantized Mesh terrain models
Enter the name for the data source and the link to the data source. If the data source needs authentication, enter also username and password. If the data source has multiresolution detail levels, the Detail level multiplier defines how detailed version of the data is loaded. You can adjust this later in Data settings.
3D City DB
Load CityGML datasets from 3DCityDB server.
Enter the name for the data source and the link to the data source.
Link
Load data from other projects. Select the project you have access to + Load, and then select the data source from that project. You can use search to search data sources in that project.
Project links is a good way to share and maintain data between projects always up-to-date without the need to duplicate same data in multuple projects. For example street project can share street surface models to building project, and building project can share building and landscape design models back to street project. Whenever the data is changed, it will be updated automatically to all other projects where data is linked to.
Cesium ION
Load data from Cesium ION service. Cesium ION is a commercial cloud solution to process different types of geographical information.
Enter the name for the data source, Cesium ION asset ID , access token. If the data source is a terrain model, check the Terrain checkbox. If the data source has multiresolution detail levels, the Detail level multiplier defines how detailed version of the data is loaded. You can adjust this later in Data settings.
