General
Following setting can be quickly turned on/off:
- Globe - Global terrain model and background maps. When OFF hides terrain and background maps.
- Project plane - Virtual project place if import is set to use Plane mode
- Antialiasing - Edge smoothing
- Shadows - Shadows from sunlight
- HUD - Information display about rendering speed like fps
- Snap - When set to ON, all tools that ask 3d points from 3d window, will snap to closest geometry point. This works for example with measure, clip plane, sketch and many other tools. The point preview dot changes color based on snap type:
- Red = No geometry point detected, point is taken from the surface
- Green = Point detected, point is taken accurately from geometry point, for example model corners, vector data corners or points, point cloud points, ... supports all geometry types with points
- Orange = Edge detected, point is takes accurately from geometry edge, for example model edges, vector line segments, ... supports all geometry types with edges
- Save Battery - Saves batery by not rendering when nothing is changing in 3D View
- Ambient occlusion - Lighting effect that simulates light bouncing from surfaces
- Inspector tool - Special tool to inspect model objects, only used for special technical analysis cases
- Bounding volume - Shows dataset bounding volumes, only used for special technical analysis cases
- User interface ON / OFF = Hides user interface like buttons for example in presentation situations. Esc -key will restore user interface back visible.
Settings
Following settings can be adjusted in detail:
- Background color - Adjust background color which is shown when Globe is set OFF
- Camera settings - Adjust camera FOV (field of view) and view direction shift corrections
- Sensor settings - Adjust how sensor data is read and processed. Mainly used for special cases for technical testing.
- Navigation - Project specific navigation settings like maximum view distance from project content and disable navigation under terrain model
- Render settings - Adjust rendering settings for antialiasing, rendering resolution, model loading detail levels, point cloud pint visualization styles.
- Record data - Record sensor data. Mainly used for special cases for technical testing.
- Import - Adjust import settings for different data types. Not recommended for users to change these unless advised in special cases.
- Ambient occlusion - Adjust ambient occlusion effect rendering settings.
- Globe - Adjust global terrain transparency and transparency fading based on distance, and option to make models always show in front of terrain.
- Fog- Adjust Fog effect settings
- Lighting - Adjust Sun and Skylight lighting and shadow casting settings
- Effects - Adjust visual effect settings like brightness, contrast and saturation
Saved settings
Following settings are saved into viewpoints, topics and user's active session, and are reloaded when those are re-opened, or when user re-opens same project later:
- Camera view
- Current timeslider time
- Data source visiblity and clipping
- Rendering settings like shadows
