Hide

Hide tool is used to hide parts of existing datasets in project level, for example hide to be demolished buildings, or hide parts of city models or point clouds as to be demolished structures, or to be cut down vegetation. 

Hide Objecs

  • Tool colors objects that you can hide with random colors
  • To hide objects, select objects that you want to hide in 3D view. Selected objects will turn red, and are also listed in hidden objects list. 
  • To unhide objects, select red colored objects that you want to unhide in 3D view, or use the delete icon in hidden object list to unhide objects. You can also unhide all by clicking "Unhide all" button. 
  • Save hidden object with Save -button

Hide Area

  • Area button starts an area polyline drawing function. Draw a polyline around the area you want to hide. Finally right click on mouse to end drawing. This will hide all objects inside the area. 
  • Name field: Give the area a descritive name if needed
  • Data sources: Select data sources you want to target hide are function
  • Cut terrain: 
    • ON = hide area hides also terrain model
    • OFF = hide area doesn't hide terrain model
  • Clip models: 
    • Inside = Hide area hides data inside area creating a "hole"
    • Outside = Hide area hides data outside area
  • Save to save hide area

Tips

  • You can create multiple hide areas by saving first one and then drawing anohter one wiht Area button. Multiple hide areas can be useful for example when you need to integrate multiple models into city models.
  • Creae multiple hide areas to hide different datasets with different areas. Each hide area has their own target datasets. You can for example cut terrain with one area around new terrain model, and then cut vegetation point cloud with another area. This way you have accurate control how to hide different datasets.
