Licensing - Shared Licenses
Shared license is a new license type which allows for example manage larger organization departments as their own sub-organizations while still use one shared license from master organization:
- Share master license quota between multiple sub-organizations
- Manage sub-organizations as independent organizations with their own:
- Admin accounts
- User accounts
- Projects
- License quota usage
- Project and user usage statistics
- Logging
Shared license, when assigned to organization is shown in sub-organizaton license list as "Shared license".
License quota is shown as follows:
- Sub-organization quota shows quota used by sub-organization projects
- Master organization quota shows total shared used quota, all sub-organizaton quota combined
There is also option to still have normal sub-organization specific own licenses , with shared license quota added. This makes it possible for example each sug-organization have their own licenses and use master shared license as backup quota buffer.
Because this is a system license model feature, there is no end user user interface to add shared licenses. Customers can request creation of sub-organizations and shared licenses from 6DPlanner support: support@6dplanner.com.
Organization - Projects
- "Filter by user:" -tool shows only projects where selected user is member of. When this is active it is also possible to change selected user's role in each project in the Role column.
Organization - Users
Organization main page shows number of:
- Organization projects
- Organization users
- All users (including external users invited to projects)
Organization / Users list shows all users in all organization projects, also external users invited into projects. User list column "Level" tells if the user is:
- "Org" = Organization level user
- "Proj" = Project level user
Edit button next to each user allows update the user's role in organization / projects.
Organization - Usage statistics
Usage panel shows organizaton project and user usage satistics.
On top of the tool there is a time selector to define start and end dates and times for the statistics. Note that too long time selection might make this tool slower.
Statistics is divided into Project and User sections:
- Projects
- Project = Project name
- Views = How many times project has been opened
- Data sources = How many data sources project uses
- Users
- User = User name
- IP = List of IP addresses where user logged in from
- Location = Geographical locations where user logged in from
- Logins = How many times user has logged in
For both sections there are multiple views to analyze the statstics:
- Table view for exact numbers
- Timeline view to see usage relative to time. You can select bar and line styles, and timeline unit from day, week, quarter, year. This can be used to monitor most active usage days or months.
- Pie graph to see satistical dispersion. This can be used to monitor most active projects and users.
- Table of project views and user logins per counry (based on IP)
- Map view to visualize geographical dispersion of project views and users
Library - Project templates
Project templates section in library allows organization admins to manage which templates are available to organizaton users.
Library management has following generic tools to manage library content:
- Folders - Organize library elements into folders
- Drag'n'drop - Re-organize library elements into folders or into certain order
- Properties
- Name - Rename library element name if possible (project template rename needs to be done in the project template itself)
- Hide - Hides library element from current organization users
Notes:
- Library elements can come from system level libraries. These elements cannot be edited or deleted, but can be made hidden to current organization.
- System and organizaton library elements can be in same folders, mixing them together. If you want to keep these separate, make a separate folder for organization elements.
- Organization templates are shown first in the New project dialog to guide users prefer organization templates over system templates.
Library - Data sources
Data sources section in library allows organization admins to manage which data sources are available to organizaton users.
Library management has following generic tools to manage library content:
- Folders - Organize library elements into folders
- Drag'n'drop - Re-organize library elements into folders or into certain order
- Properties
- Name - Rename library element name if possible (project template rename needs to be done in the project template itself)
- Hide - Hides library element from current organization users
- Edit - Edit library element sepecific settings, which vary by element type
Notes:
- Library elements can come from system level libraries. These elements cannot be edited or deleted, but can be made hidden to current organization.
- System and organizaton library elements can be in same folders, mixing them together. If you want to keep these separate, make a separate folder for organization elements.
- Organization data sources are shown first in the Add data Library tool to guide users prefer organization data sources over system data sources.
Hide - Hide by metadata
- "Metadata selection" option
- Click on object and you will be asked to select which metadata will be used for unique object hiding. For example selecting metadata name "id" will allow hide individual objects based on unique "id" metadata values.
- You can then click multiple individual objects to hide with same metadata selection.
- To change metadata selection, Save current hide objecs, and click on a new object. This will re-open the metadata selection and you can select another metadata for unique hiding. This allows you to hide objects based on multiple different metadata selectons.
Viewpoints - Save hide tool settings
- Hide tool settings like hide objects and hide areas are saved into viewpoints. Different viewpoints can have different hide settings. This allows for example present different design scenarios with different hide areas.
- Save into new viewpoint: Simply create a new viewpoint.
- Update to existing viewpoint: Activate existing viewpoint to get camera and other settings loaded from viewpoint. Close viewpoint panel, activate Hide tool, and hide objects and areas as you like. Once you are happy with the hide, update viewpoint using update viewpoint button in viewpoints.
- Shift -click on viewpoint loads only viewpoint camera location. This way users can for example normally adjust hide and other setings, then load only viewpoint camera location to maintain those settings, and then update viewpoint with loaded camera and adjusted settings.
Settings - Snap to corner points
Settings options:
- Snap - When set to ON, all tools that ask 3d points from 3d window, will snap to closest geometry point. This works for example with measure, clip plane, sketch and many other tools. The point preview dot changes color based on snap type:
- Red = No geometry point detected, point is taken from the surface
- Green = Point detected, point is taken accurately from geometry point, for example model corners, vector data corners or points, point cloud points, ... supports all geometry types with points
- Orange = Edge detected, point is takes accurately from geometry edge, for example model edges, vector line segments, ... supports all geometry types with edges
Navigation - Keyboard navigation
Navigation is also possible using game style navigation with keybard:
- W / Up arrow = Forward
- A / Left arrow = Left
- S / Down arrow = Backward
- D / Right arrow = Right
- Q / Page up = Up
- E / Page down = Down
- key + Shift = Temporerily 2x faster speed
- key + Ctrl = Temporarily 0.5x slower speed
- + = Increases default speed to 2x faster
- - = Decreases default speed to 0.5x slower
Note: Some Ctrl + key and Shift + key combinations are operating system or browser level shortcuts, and cannot be ovverrided by 6DPlanner. When navigate press the navigation key first and then Ctrl or Shift, then it works with navigation keys.
Import - ifcSpace Objecs
- ifcSpace objecs are now imported as normal visible geometry objecs. ifcSpace objects have normal metadata, geometry and color as it is defined in the IFC file itself.
- objectType tool in IFC model hierarchy allows users to quickly turn objecs on/off by object type. Tip: To see only certain objec type, hide first all object types from "objectTypes" level, and then turn on objects you want to see. For example to see only ifcSpace objecs, turn off all object types, and then turn on ifcSpace type.
User interface - Hide
Settings options:
- User interface ON / OFF = Hides user interface like buttons for example in presentation situations. Esc -key will restore user interface back visible.
Roles - Map-selector
- Map selector can be turned OFF from different roles. If organization wants to disable background map selector from all of its users, OFF setting can be saved into project templates, which keept the ma selector OFF for all organization users.
Project - Sharing
Share button, betweek projec list and eGuide allows users to share projects directly from the app:
- Copy = Copies project link to clipboard where users can paste it to another apps
- Email = Creates a new email using user's default email app, with project name as subject and project link in email text. Users can then easily fill in rest of the email and send projects to emal recepients.
- Embed = Generates html code that can be added to normal web pages to make 6DPlanner project visible as web page element same way as images and videos
Initial view - Help link
When users login to 6DPlanner they will see their home page, which is a list of projecs. eGuide help button allows users to access eGuide documentation directly from their home page, making it easier to start learning how to use the platform.
